What sits at the centre of the model?#
The operating loop: Intent, Delegate, Execute and Judge, with Learn and Adapt in the middle. Intent sets the outcome and what must stay true. Delegate decides which work machines may take on, with which permissions and where they must stop. Execute is the work itself. Judge decides whether the result is good enough. Management has always handled Intent, Execute and Judge. Delegate is the stage an AI operating model adds, and most of the new design work sits there.
Why is writing code with an LLM only a small part of it?#
In our value-stream assessments, a change holding two or three days of engineering work routinely takes five or six months to reach production, mostly spent waiting between stages. Compressing the engineering into an afternoon saves about two days out of more than 150. The rest lives in product, security, legal, finance and release: the delivery loop around the build loop.
