What Is a Re-Entry Brief?

A re-entry brief is what should be waiting when a person comes back to AI-assisted work that moved on without them. It starts with the decision waiting, then gives their recorded starting point, what changed and why it matters, the evidence and uncertainty, what did not change, and where to read.

Why is it layered?#

So the reader can stop as soon as the decision allows. Not every return needs a full reconstruction: if the judgment waiting is small and the change was contained, the first layer is enough. Forcing a complete briefing on every re-entry is how briefs become things people skim.

What is a re-entry checkpoint?#

The recorded point where the person last engaged, which they can see and correct. Everything in the brief is written relative to it, so the delta describes the gap between what they knew and what is now true.

Letting them correct it matters. A checkpoint the system believes and the person does not produces a brief that explains the wrong things, confidently.
