What changes when an organisation becomes AI native?#
Traditional management optimised coordination. Cloud native optimised flow and feedback. AI native management has to optimise the boundary between what machines do and what people decide — which is a different problem from either, and it is not solved by adopting tools.
Why is buying AI tools not the same as being AI native?#
Buying the artefacts of change instead of changing how work flows is tooling substitution, and it is the most common failure in AI adoption. Automation amplifies whatever system it lands in: where intent is clear and results are checked, it speeds things up; where they are not, it produces unchecked work faster.
The change that earns the label is structural. It shows up in how work is delegated, what evidence comes back, who decides what, and how the organisation learns — the substance of an AI native operating model.
