What does the team actually do?#
It adds context, validation, clear specifications and cheap rollback — the four things whose absence is usually why a person is still standing in the path. Each one is a piece of system debt: a human intervention that happened because something in the system was missing, not because judgment was needed.
Why is this an enabling team rather than a platform team?#
Because the work is temporary by design. An enabling team helps another team reach a capability and then leaves, which is the right shape for paying down debt that belongs to someone else's work. A platform, by contrast, is a permanent product other teams consume.
In the farm and construction site analogy, this is the team that turns a site into something more mechanised — not by removing the people, but by removing the reasons they had to be there.
