How do you bring a decision queue back within budget?#
There are four honest fixes. Reduce the incoming work. Improve the evidence, so each decision takes less time. Move a decision right, to someone with the context to make it faster. Or automate a check that has proved itself — see automation follows trust.
Lowering the stated risk of a change so the queue empties is never the fix. That does not reduce the work; it hides it, and it converts a visible backlog into an invisible one.
