re:cinq is a hands-on engineering consultancy. We build the system with the client's engineers, and they own it when we leave. A Lead AI Native Engineer makes that happen on the ground. You shape what gets built, stand up the harness and gates the team builds on, build it with coding agents, and change how a client's engineers work day to day. You operate as engineer, product owner, and tech lead at once.
Own delivery end to end. Take one thin slice from specification to production, behind flags and gates, then widen it and hand back the keys.
Run it like a product owner. Turn a fuzzy business problem into a sequenced backlog, write the spec with the client's product owner and architect, make it the source the code is derived from, and decide what ships and what waits.
Build the factory around the agents. Decide what shared context, harness and validation gates the client's team needs, and climb the ladder only as fast as each level can be trusted.
Set the engineering bar. Test coverage, CI/CD, observability, and the validation harness that agent output is judged against. AI amplifies the system it lands in, so the system has to be sound.
Lead the behaviour change. Teach client developers, analysts and product owners to work AI native, train on real delivery work, train the trainers, and make the new way of working stick after you leave.
Push back on hype. Say no to the demo that won't survive production, measure success in delivered outcomes, and explain why in language a CTO and a junior dev both follow.
